In India, the deadly second wave of COVID-19 has left health systems overwhelmed and the country struggling to combat this unprecedented crisis. In the first week of May, the number of daily positive cases crossed 400,000 and daily fatalities had also reached 4,000. Across the nation, this has led to a severe shortage of hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, ventilators, medical supplies, protective equipment, and vaccines. While the first wave of the pandemic resulted in a colossal loss of livelihoods, this time around the impact has been far more devastating with many families losing their loved ones.
While India has been receiving aid from all quarters, the severity of the situation requires as much support as can be mobilized. We appeal to you to open your hearts and donate to support COVID-19 relief efforts in India. Mahindra Foundation will work with our partner Naandi Foundation, to ensure that your contribution is utilized to provide home/community care including thermal screening, oxygen monitoring and provision of medicines under medical supervision for all needy communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the regions where they are working across India. To provide medical support at the grassroot level, Naandi Foundation has collaborated with NICE Foundation, a public charitable trust involved in saving lives through community outreach health care programs and a NICE Hospital for women, children and an Institute for newborns.
