HELP ME PUT MY WORDS INTO ACTION-PROMOTING GIRLS RIGHTS
I am a young leader in my local Girlguiding Unit. I will be spending some of  my summer  volunteering on a project organised by GIRLGUIDING SCOTLAND.   I will be putting my words into action and be working with girls to empower them and help them stand up for their rights.

THIS IS HOW YOU CAN HELP
My local Girlguiding Unit and I have been working very hard to raise funds. Girlguiding Scotland and MY fundraising helped by my guiding unit has provided  £1010 OF THE £2000 TARGET.However, I am still short of my funding target, so I am asking you to help me make a difference. Please, please  donate, even a few pounds will make a difference. YOU will be helping me to make a difference  by speaking up for girls rights and helping me put my words into actions.

HOW I WILL BE HELPING THE GIRLS WHO HAVE SURVIVED DOMESTIC ABUSE

Anyone who knows me knows I like to rant. I often rant about the injustices and terrible things that happen in the world.  You will also know I am very passionate about women's rights and have ranted about gender equality  a lot!!!  This summer instead of ranting from my room I am going  to put down my electronic devices and am going to do something about it.  I am going to spend some of my summer holidays volunteering on a project  called "Stop the violence and speak out for girls rights" as every girl has the right to live free from violence or the fear of violence.  I will be travelling in July to Mexico with a team of other members of Girlguiding Scotland. We will be learning about the Mexican culture and visiting various places, but will also be working with the domestic abuse project.

I am honoured to have been selected as one of Scotland's Girlguiding ambassadors and I will be joining  other young women ambassadors from around the world.  We will be working with girls who have experienced domestic abuse. These young girls have fled to shelters to escape the abuse, but they are very damaged - mental scars rather than physical ones. They have lost everything their homes; their family has been split up and they have also lost confidence and are regularly missing school. We will be helping the girls to rebuild their confidence and help them to believe in themselves. We will also raise awareness of girls rights and the campaigning to stop the violence.

WHY I NEED YOUR HELP

I am under 16 years old and so I am not eligible to apply for lots of funding grants due to my age. However this has not deterred me, I have have done lots of fundraising activities.  I have done a bake sales (I baked so so much!!!). I have also had a quiz night and I made soup and cakes for a soup lunch event which I ran with the help of my Guide Unit and my Dad.  My Guide unit, (plus Mum and Dad) are going to help me do a bag pack at Tesco, a BBQ and we also have plans to have a beach treasure hunt.  I have also been doing some on-line selling and car boot sales. However, I am still short of my funding target, so I am asking you to help me make a difference.

I WILL BE SO GRATEFUL
I will be so grateful if you could help me AS NO GIRL SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH VIOLENCE OF THE FEAR OF VIOLENCE!

Thanks Charlotte.
