Hello dear friends and family. This is my mother Marianne. She has been a wonderful mother and friend her whole life. The majority of her life has been centered around her love for Jesus and for her family. Now she and my dad face a major financial struggle & I'm asking for your help.
Mom had 2 TIAs and 1 major stroke over the past few months. The stroke has left her incapacitated and dependent upon full time care. They have found themselves in a predicament whereby Medicare will not cover long term care, Medicaid does not kick in for 120 days, and there's a 90-day waiting period on her long term care insurance. This means for the first 3-4 months, all costs are out of pocket. We have estimated those costs to be be around $20,000 depending upon what Medicare will cover in the way of equipment for her long term care at home (which would be the most compassionate and cost effective care). As her family we are doing the best we can, but we cannot cover all of these costs. She is scheduled to be released from sub-acute rehab on June 21st, so the need is pretty immediate.
Also, aside from financial assistance, they will need prayer, my dad will need respite (he is almost 86 years old) and assistance with meal preparation, and mom will need physical therapy which is not covered in any way, shape or form after her 100 days of rehab is completed at the end of July.
So, as you can see, the need is great. Please help us in being a blessing to the best 2 people in the world. To say her family would be thankful is an understatement.
