Help Marilyn's Children
Donation protected
On April 10, 2021, Marilyn Gotay, unexpectedly passed away twelve hours after receiving the Moderna vaccine.
She was an amazing partner, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Marilyn was born on July 6, 1981 to Edward "Bolo" Gotay and Eva Roldan-Gotay. She met the love of her life, partner and best friend Amauriz "Mo" Gonzalez, January 5, 2000 and together they had two beautiful children; Edward (16 and autistic) and Alexia (11). Mo is currently on the NYC waitlist for a Kidney transplant as he suffers from end stage renal disease and is on dialysis and disability.
Marilyn was caring, thoughtful, beautiful and loving. Everyone who met her was touched by her ability to be present and listen, she was a mother first, and she was everyone’s best friend and the glue that kept everyone together. Her health was in good standing with no underlining conditions, as she was being actively evaluated to match with Mo as a potential kidney donor.
As we await the results from the pathologist report to fully understand how this precious life could be taken from us so suddenly, we are also investigating the possibility that her death was a consequence of the vaccination. Thus far, the pathologist assigned to her states that it will take “several months” to determine the cause of death. With no arrangements for life insurance, the funds being raised will exclusively help her children and partner secure basic needs- housing, educational and wellbeing expenses, for donation transparency it will be allocated towards:
Housing; rent, internet, utilities
Food
School supplies
Transportation costs
Mental health, trauma & wellness counseling
There is no paid paternity leave in our country. All funds raised will go directly to Mo, so that he can focus on caring for their beautiful children.
Edward is autistic and it is difficult to determine how much the loss of his mother has impacted him; Alexia found her mother deceased and was so brave to call the police and get the ambulance to the apt. Thus, their mental wellbeing is of top importance.
Mo is tentatively awaiting approval to match with a younger sibling and if this can happen, Mo will also need assistance with childcare and a caregiver to help with recovery post the operation.
We thank you as a family for taking the time to help us try to acclimate to this new way of life. We will not stop and will continue to ask questions and seek answers and justice for Marilyn. She would have wanted nothing more than to keep her family safe and together. Thank you for reading about Marilyn’s story and learning about this beautiful angel of ours.
