Mark Santiago's Road to Recovery from Stroke

Mark Santiago went in for a heart ablation procedure on Thursday, Feb 18, 2021, to correct an AFIB irregularity that was unresponsive to medication. Mark suffered a stroke shortly after the procedure. Mark will be transferring to a stroke rehabilitation facility on Monday, Feb 22, 2021, to begin physical, occupational, and speech therapy. As you know, recovering from a stroke is a very long process. Modifications to the home will be required and at a minimum, he will be out of work for at least 6 months. All funds raised will be used to cover medical expenses, monthly expenses, and any necessary modifications to the home.
Mark is a loving husband to Renee, father to Sarah, Khala, and Amber, grandfather to Isaac, and brother to Judy and Tracy. He is such a giving and loving man and carries the weight of others on his shoulders. Nothing is more important to Mark than his family.
Mark is a very hard worker and does everything he can to provide for and take care of his family. He also helped his mother when she was receiving hospice care. He not only would...but has given the shirt off his back to help others. He has a great spirit, goes out of his way to be supportive, mentors others and above all else values the people in his life. We are asking our village to help support our family in his time of need. His main concern is not being able to take care of those that rely on him. While a full recovery is hopeful, it is not promised.
These next months will be a roller coaster-physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially. Currently, the family is coming together to help him through this so he can focus on rehabilitation and recovery. Because life can change in an instant, our hope is to come out on the other side stronger than ever.
