Where else can hundreds of millions of TV viewers get to witness the triumph of our foremothers who worked tirelessly to win the vote? And to remind us of the RIGHT TO VOTE in 2020.
2020 marks the Centennial of US women's right to vote. 2020 also marks a day where the priority of many voters is inclusiveness which will be reflected on the float.
Pasadena Celebrates 2020 is in a unique position to kick off this Centennial year with a float in the Tournament of Roses parade on January 1, 2020, a parade seen round the world. The float’s theme is Years of Hope. Years of Courage.
The float will portray the long history to win the right to vote and its cardinal figures. Floats and parades were a major hallmark of how women brought attention to their cause. Parades were held in both large cities and small towns; suffrage floats were dramatic and stunning, featuring floral displays, art, and the constant demand for the Right to Vote. Our 2020 Float and presence in the Tournament of Roses Parade continues that tradition and illuminates this victory of equality.
Want to join me in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit The National Women's History Alliance, our 501 c 3 fiscal sponsor for the Rose Tournament Parade float and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to women.
