Martha's Garden
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Roz. My husband Adam and I have 3 beautiful young daughters, Elsie 5, Martha 2 (almost 3) and Hettie 1.
Not many people know, but our middle daughter Martha has recently been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (diplegia). This means she struggles with her walking, balance and coordination. She has regular physiotherapy, and has to have special insoles in her shoes to help with her walking.
She is such a determined little girl, and doesn't ever let her disability stop her!
Just recently we moved into a new little bungalow, which needed fully decorating before we moved in. We then had to spend the last of our money on putting in a drop kerb and a driveway so we were able to park close to the house to get the girls in and out of the car, as Martha often has to be carried.
The bungalow has a lovely garden, but it's been neglected for a very long time. The little old lady that lived there before we moved in was 100! The concrete step from the back door and patio area has all moved and cracked over the years, and is very uneven to walk on. Unfortunately this means Martha is unable to access the garden safely without being carried out as she's unable to manage the uneven cracked surface safely without falling and hurting herself. She absolutely loves to be outdoors, especially with her 2 sisters, and I hate the fact she can't get out there to enjoy it with them without extra help.
We would love to be able to raise money to have the patio area re-paved and made level and safe for Martha to be able to get out into the garden to play safely and independently.
If we can raise enough, it’d also be amazing be able to build a little summerhouse at the bottom of the garden for Martha to be able to sit in and relax when she becomes tired, without having to come back inside. Nothing huge, just somewhere safe and comfy for her to rest as she often becomes tired very quickly as it’s a lot of effort for her to play in the garden.
Any donation helps, even the smallest amount. Thank you so much, we're so grateful for every penny raised.
