Mary Tanasse Women's Scholarship
Donation protected
Mary Tanasse is an 87-year-old retired teacher, mother of 9, grandmother of 27, and activist.
Over her life she has supported, volunteered for, and fought for causes which include women's rights, equal access to education, rights for the differently abled, providing for the poor, and affordable healthcare.
In December 2016, Mary was diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer. Instead of prolonging her life with potentially painful treatment, she opted to live the last months of her life fully advocating the causes she believes in.
On January 21st she checked off one of the remaining items on her bucket list by attending the Women's March on Olympia. Her incredible story went on to touch millions after KING 5 News, The Olympian , The Huffington Post , The Telegraph , Elite Daily , Yahoo News , RedeTV! and others helped spread her story across the globe.
As she's made an impact on so many lives, we in turn would like to fund a women's educational scholarship in her name so she may impact a few more with the time she has left. All proceeds will go toward a one-time or reoccurring needs-based scholarship to help women achieve their goal of pursuing higher education.
When asked if interested in having a women's scholarship crowdfunded in her name Mary replied, "Oh, Lord yes!"
