Marylyn's Funeral Help

My name is Nicole and when I was 3 months old I met my parents. I call them Titi Mari and Titi Evie. "Titi" being aunt in Spanish. They were pair of twin sisters that took me and my mother in when we had nothing after meeting us once. In late December, a mere month after achieving the lifelong goal of buying a house, my Titi Mari was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer Stage 3. I can not begin to explain how this diagnosis has shaken me and most of the family but this isn't about us. I'm doing this for them. I was never one to ask for help I think that is something I got from my real mother but instead I was the one always offering it, which is definitely something I got from my Titis. I am in every humble sense pleading for help with the bills they have fallen behind on due to chemo taking Mari away from work and Evie only being able to work part time due to disability. This is a very hard thing for me to do and I am not sure how to put this into words how much any help would mean to me so with the help of my best friend Caleb here is something we have wrote about them.
As children, we always search for where we feel safest. Whether it be in the arms of a grandparent, the kitchen table of mom’s house, or the backyard of a friend’s. For many, it was in the walls of Marylyn and Evelyn Maldonado’s home. Called Titi Mari and Titi Evie by those that love them, these twin sisters have been the blessing of many.
Whether it be a struggling single mother looking for help to raise her children, an abused niece searching for protection, or family members just looking to get back on their feet, each and every single member of the family has been met with the same warm hugs and caring questions that only Titi Mari and Evie could produce. Having their mother pass away when they were only 10, the twins took on the world with each other for support. In this life is where they found the compassion to help others. And since that origin, that’s all they’ve ever done. From housing family, to raising strangers, to lending out money they knew they’d never see again. They’d fed the hungry and warmed the cold. They did so with a smile on their face. Even when the world seemed to punish them for their over-generosity. The Titi’s never asked for anything in return. And they still aren’t; but, I am.
As of recently, after putting in years of work at Dollywood in the Smoky Mountains, Titi Mari is now facing a stage three pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Treatment is possible, but without the income provided by the hard work they both put in at Dollywood, there’s only so much that can be done to keep a ship from sinking. The Titi’s need our help. Many of those they have helped can only do so much, some are gone completely, as life would have it. Cancer is rarely fair and it always seems to choose the ones that deserve it the least, and we know that things of this sort are a long-shot. But like the Titi’s, we won’t give up on them. Any amount given will go to bills such as mortgage, electricity and car payments to keep them afloat as well as any medical bills that we are sure will come our way. Thank you for any prayers or sharing of the link. I understand the world we live in is rough so extra time and funds are not often plentiful but I appreciate any given to my parents. God bless and please spend more time with your parents.
