Rally Around Matt on His Road to Remission

Fifteen-year-old Matt Millar has lived a happy, healthy life surrounded by a loving family and community in Brisbane, Australia. That all changed in late July when Matt began experiencing concerning symptoms like vision loss and inability to use his right hand. After multiple hospital visits and tests, the unthinkable diagnosis came: Matt has an extremely rare and aggressive brain cancer. This heartbreaking news has turned the Millar family's world upside down.

Matt's parents, Stu, Maria, and his three siblings, are understandably heartbroken but clinging to their faith in Jesus. As Stu shared on Facebook, although the prognosis is only 6-12 months, they feel surrounded by God's love and have hope that He can work a miracle. The journey ahead will be excruciatingly difficult, but their priorities are clear: cherishing each moment with Matt and keeping eternity in perspective.

This family now faces gruelling medical decisions no parent wants to make. After consulting with oncologists in Australia, Stu and Maria recently learned of treatment available overseas at the Oasis of Hope Hospital in Mexico. This innovative technology has shown great promise, and it's Matt's best chance at overcoming this terrible disease. He requires an intensive 20-day hospital stay for the treatment, plus follow-up care, and further treatment 3 months after his first. Time is of the essence to start this multi-faceted protocol that includes dendritic cell therapy, Vit b17 infusions (neither are available in Australia), diet changes, high dose vitamins, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, immune therapies, and more.

The Millar Family are people of steadfast faith and selfless service. Stu's ministry work sharing the Gospel takes him around the globe. Maria lovingly home-schools their children while working weekends as a nurse. Their eldest son Sam just completed vocational training, while daughters Amy and Libby attend school at home. This family pours themselves into bringing light to others - and now they are the ones in need.

The projected costs for Matt's cutting-edge treatment, travel, and all associated expenses exceed $85,000. This staggering amount is impossible for the Millar Family to pay out of pocket, Their only option is to humbly reach out and ask for support to save their precious son's life.

Please consider giving even a small amount to help the Millar family through this difficult chapter. Your donation will provide tangible hope that Matt can defy the odds and overcome this vicious disease. More importantly, it lets them know they are not alone. Your generosity tells this wonderful family that people all over the world are cheering Matt on, believing with them for a miracle, and wanting to lift some of the unbearable financial burden during their darkest days.

We are also looking for people to join us as faith partners, by also committing to a regular amount, be it weekly, fortnightly or monthly, to continue supporting Matt's treatment, making his road to recovery less stressful for the Millar Family. (contact us for details)

Matt has so much life yet to live, surrounded by loved ones who adore him. He still dreams of a future: finishing school, developing his many talents, and making his mark on the world. Maybe even falling in love one day and having a family of his own. Please help give him that chance.
