Meg's Mayo Clinic Surgery
Donation protected
Dear Friends!
Please consider helping our friend and colleague Margaret Smith AKA Meg. She is currently going through a serious health crisis and urgently needs our help.
In December the Mayo Clinic was finally able to diagnose some of her health issues and she was able to have a heart surgery that improved her quality of life by 90%. Now she needs to have part of her liver removed so it will stop poisoning the other organs. However at this point the insurance has denied her coverage and she is desperately trying to come up with $28,000 in the next 2 weeks to cover the surgery.
Meg and her husband were about to refinance their home when fate dealt another blow: her husband lost his job this last week!
I dont know about you, but I find that it is infinitely harder to ask for help then it is to give it. Meg did not want to ask for help but maybe we ought to show her that she is not alone and she mustn't suffer quietly. When the system falls short in helping, should we - her music community and friends - not step in and do all we can do to help?
We can help in several ways including prayer:
A) Let's help her by funding this GoFundMe campaign. Please consider donating generously now - any amount you are able to give is greatly appreciated. And please spread the word to our friends to do the same.
B) Also, Meg has a beautiful special edition Steinway Piano, Model S.5'1", built in 1952. It still has the handwritten serial numbers - all 1953 and later model editions have the serial numbers stamped. This Steinway is estimated between $25k-$30k. She is willing to sell it to an organization for $20,000 and less to a private owner. Are you or is anyone you know in need of this piano? Let's help spread the word about this opportunity and inform our pianist friends, students, churches and the music lover community at large by referring them to this campaign. For more info on the Steinway Piano please contact Meg directly @ [email redacted]desk.com.
Many thanks!
This is the eleventh hour as her surgery originally scheduled for July 3, 2017 was moved forward to June 26, 2017. Any amount of help is immensely appreciated!
Sincerest Thanks and God Bless!
Yours,
Julia Gessinger
