Medical Expense Help for Ellie Joy Potts
Donation protected
We are helping to raise funds for Casey and Elizabeth Potts for their precious Ellie Joy as their family faces some tough decisions and potential procedures in relation to Ellie’s health.
We trust God as the miracle maker and giver of life, and pray blessings over this sweet family. In addition to your prayer support, financial donations of any size are so helpful as Ellie’s health needs have brought new financial demands to their sweet family and also pulled Elizabeth from being able to work at the capacity she did before.
This GoFundMe is to help with:
- covering incurred medical expenses for Ellie's healthcare
- help with lost income from Liz having to cut her work hours
- help with any upcoming medical procedures and therapies Ellie might need
See Liz’s latest update on Ellie below.
Our most incredible and precious baby girl has undergone an ultrasound and MRI to check her spinal cord. She handled the anesthesia like a champ and all the nurses and docs couldn’t get enough of her sweet snuggles.
We met with Vandy Neurosurgery again last week and the results are still inconclusive. She has incredible leg function and bowels are working great but she has a deep sacral dimple and a low conus leading the doctors to believe she may possibly have a tethered spinal cord. We have been left with a few options of: proceed with spinal cord surgery without knowing if she needs it, watch and see if she begins to have any delays and then proceed with surgery but a toss up if she will have permanent damage or will make a full recovery, or she may not have any issues at all. We are in the impossible gray area of making this decision. If she does need surgery, they want to do it within the next month.
We are seeking out second and third opinions this week from some of the top hospitals. We have been left in the gray area of not knowing how to make this decision.
We are asking for all of you who are willing, to please pray with us. Please join us as we pray for God to give us clarity of what’s in her best interest and that the other evaluations are conclusive. We are praying for the all clear that they believe she will be perfectly ok and does not need surgery if you have any connections to help us evaluate and guide us during this time, we welcome your help. Please also pray with us for the finances to all be covered as I’m self employed and had to cut back my schedule coming off of maternity leave.
Social media often only shares one tiny portion of life. Unfortunately this has been part of our real life since her birth. She has been in therapy since she was born 1-2x per week form birth trauma to her neck, back, and shoulder. We are also meeting with an oral myologist as she has had a tongue, lip, and both cheeks revised in the beginning of October. She is making incredible progress with all her therapies but most are not covered by insurance. If there is anything good to come of social media, I hope it’s for support and connection in times of need.
We have fought so hard for this sweet baby girl and love her more than words could ever describe. Please pray for our hearts as we navigate all of this. We know God’s love for our sweet family and we could use some extra peace and comfort prayers during this time.
