Medical insurance premiums after FMLA ran out.

Hi,
My name is Brandy. Im a Registered Nurse in the field of Oncology. It's my passion and I love my job and my patients. A few weeks after returning from vacation in July, I began to have trouble swallowing; then in mid July I found out my rotator cuff is torn and have continued to decline and develop different symptoms since. Lots of tests, still no answers. They did tell me that the muscle wasting came first, then the tendons tore.
I just kept working until I finally had to use FMLA due to not being physically able to do my job. The last day I worked was 9/19. I had an EMG that's abnormal; MD suspected Muscular Dystrophy. A month later, results are negative. I go back in 3 days for another exam and more genetic testing.
Update: after nearly 6 weeks, I got the call the insurance had finally approved my genetic testing. Came back I am a carrier for BTD and have 2 genetic mutations of unknown significance. Muscle biopsy surgery is scheduled for 03/13/24.
My employer’s benefits office has sent me a bill for my insurance copays for the time after FMLA ran out. $2288. I don’t want to have surgery and have some huge bill.
I have never asked anyone for help. When I was praying about how would we make ends meet until I find out what's going on, God plainly told me "gofundme" I said Lord I would never want to ask anyone for anything. I don't want anyone to know we're struggling. God immediately put the words in my head "take away my pride and set it on the side" Those are words from a Zach Williams song called Washed Clean. So here I am, a week later, making a go fund me because God will not stop telling me to.
Anything is appreciated and I would gladly pay you back if you'd accept.
