Megan's MEDLIFE Trip.

Hi,
My name is Megan McLeod. I am a freshman at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and I have a passion for serving others through medicine.
I am currently on the pre-med track at Ole Miss and have aspirations of becoming a doctor. I am a part of an amazing organization called MEDLIFE (Medicine, Education and Development to Low Income Families Everywhere).
MEDLIFE is different from other mission or volunteer trip organizations because they are dedicated to working with the local community and its leaders to find ways to assist long-term, sustainable development. In other words, we do not simply go to a poor area for a week or two to do what we can and then leave, but rather listen to and work with the community to truly help them rise from their current situation. Please check out the video and link to the MEDLIFE website for more information.
This summer, I will be traveling to Lima, Peru, with a group of 50 undergraduate students from Ole Miss on a MEDLIFE volunteer trip. We will assist local medical professionals as they see patients from surrounding underserved communities in a mobile clinic and also participate in a community development project.
I am so excited to go and serve in Peru, but I need your help to get there! Please help me in reaching my goal of raising $2,000 to cover the expenses of the trip and support MEDLIFE's local development project.
Thank you for your support,
Megan McLeod
