On Valentine’s day this year, I lost my Valentine my husband - Rommel (Mel). So did our beloved children. Our five children and I are trying to make ends meet to cover: transitional expenses, rent, utilities, and daily expenses as we grieve our Mel.

I'm Jennifer Tayag, an immigrant from the Philippines, a full-time mom and a long-time Everett resident. My husband Mel and I moved to the U.S. about 20 years ago. We were looking for a better life for our family. In 2019, Mel was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and passed away on February 14, 2022. He has always been the cornerstone of our family. He is a committed, kind, loving, respectful, faithful, considerate and hardworking husband, dad, brother, son and coworker.

I’m reaching out for help as I transition from being a stay-at-home mom to finding a job to support my children and family. Anything would be appreciated. Thank you for your generosity.
