Memorial Donations for Richard Longley
Donation protected
It is with a heavy, heavy heart that I write that Richard, our Daddy, brother, partner, friend, passed away peacefully early this morning.
Over the past weeks Dad has been surrounded by an enormous amount of love and warmth, both in person and from afar. We have shared memories, laughed, cried, and sang so many different songs that lifted all of our spirits.
We are so grateful for the overwhelming amount of love and support from all of you. Thank you for sharing, and continuing to share, your favorite memories, pictures, and well wishes through the CaringBridge site. They have been a great source of comfort during this challenging time.
We look forward to a joyful celebration of Dad's life, filled with laughter, good food, libations, and of course song, with you all when it is safe for all of us to come together.
In lieu of flowers or donations to the CaringBridge website, we have put together a GoFundMe page to collect donations that will be distributed to a charity with meaning to Dad. Any contribution you feel inclined to make would be appreciated.
If we have learned anything from this experience, it has been to cherish the little moments that are often taken for granted during our busy lives. In the coming days, please take a moment to reflect and be mindful. Reach out to a friend or loved one you haven't spoken to recently and say "Hello!" Or, write a note and share a happy memory with a friend from the past. Hold a loved ones hand, play a silly game, or sing an absurd song. At the very least, on one of these spring days, take a walk and listen to the birds. Perhaps, most importantly, take time to "Stop and smell the roses... or crabapple blossoms," in whatever from that may take.
