Memorial&Support for Lt. Eric Cappelli's family

Hi Friends,

My name is Jeannie Weller and I was friends with Eric for 35 years, before his untimely death on April 26, 2020. We were in the same company in the Academy and forged a friendship that would last until his passing.

On September 18, 2021, Eric’s name was added to the First Responders Wall in the 9/11 Responders Park in Lake Ronkonkoma. Eric’s family was notified shortly before that his name would be added, something not expected but extremely welcomed.

We are fundraising to place a plaque in Eric’s name at the Park. The bronze plaque costs $1,000 and will be displayed on a wall opposite his name.

When Eric passed, he took everything with him. His pension ended and his family was left with large bills and his wife is working 3 jobs to provide healthcare and whatever else his children need. If we are able to achieve our goal, anything over that will go to Eric’s children. They are a junior and senior in high school and his eldest getting ready for college.
