Mendota Trail Development Fund

Mendota Trail Facebook Page ‌Mountain Heritage, Inc., is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization based in Saint Paul, Virginia, founded to help preserve the history and develop and maintain certain outdoor recreation projects in Southwestern Virginia.  Mountain Heritage promotes tourism to the area so it can serve as an attraction for economic development projects. Local residents can enjoy the work of Mountain Heritage through its museum and outdoor projects.

Mountain Heritage was conveyed land by the City of Bristol for purposes of developing a rails-to-trails hiking and biking trail along the old Southern Railway property from Bristol, Virginia, through Mendota, Virginia, to the Scott County, Virginia, line.  Donated funds will be used to develop and enable the property for this purpose.  Development is underway, and volunteers and donations are appreciated to help make this trail the best it can be. 

The contact person for this campaign is Joyce Kilgore, a licensed Virginia attorney who represents Mountain Heritage and transfers the donated funds to it.  If a receipt is needed for tax purposes, one can be provided on request.
