Miss Dakota Needs Your Helping Hand

Our Vets Lives Matter-Australia and ANZAC RIBBON TRIBUTE SS

Miss Dakota is not your usual dog, She is a Veteran from RAAF Base Amberley, where she was trained as an Explosives Dog, with the Bloodline of German Shepherd from the well known Zeus.

Since her retirement from the RAAF, Miss Dakota spends her days cruising in the back of the Anzac Ribbon Tribute SS with her best friend & also Veteran Glenn Marskell raising awareness for Veteran Suicide & Mental Health, being Glenn's Assistance Dog.

In their recent travels, which led them both to South Australia & Western Australia meeting Brothers & Sisters of the Military, Miss Dakota has consumed a Grass Seed and it has lodged itself in her lungs causing her to be very unwell.

Glenn is devastated to say the least, and any money raised will go toward the surgery that Miss Dakota much so needs to remove the infected part of her lungs.

What Price do you put on Surgery for an Animal?

Miss Dakota is Priceless, and all Veterans who have met her, will Agree!

If Miss Dakota was a normal Pet, we wouldn't even ask. She isn't, and she is an Assistance Dog to Glenn, and a PTSD Spotter, that Saves Lives. She goes to people, who she can sense need help, and that, indicates to Glenn that this Vet needs help. I know, She helped me, and many other Veterans who have met her know what she does Instinctively.
She was taught to detect Explosives, now she detects the explosion in us, and she needs help now.

She attracts Veterans to open up, because we all Love Animals, especially Dogs and Glenn and Dakota travel to where they are needed, anywhere, anytime to save Vets who are Desperate. They work together, to educate and encourage our Veterans to open up and talk.
Right now, they are stuck at Home, not just because of COVID, but, because Miss Dakota's only hope for Life is this Expensive Surgery.

However, Veterinary Bills are Crippling and Miss Dakota saves Lives, she Loves Veterans and they Love her!
She is one of us, but, she is suffering badly. She is our mate and we don't leave mates behind on the Battlefield of Life.

She has helped countless Veterans, from all branches of the Service, in ways a Human can't. She can get people to open up, where we can't,
and that, is where her True Value lies, and she is a part of a Team that works, to assist, all ADF Veterans and she Saves Lives.

I told her to sit and wait for Glenn in that Photograph, and she knew her place and she threw her body against the Front Spoiler of the Tribute SS, and stared at the Camera, she knows where she belongs, in a Team, a man, a car, and a Dog named Dakota.
She collapsed not long after that, photo was taken, and she has been sick ever since.

Now Miss Dakota needs Help, your help. Please donate what you can, as soon as you can.

She needs Funds to pay for another kind of Vet, one which is working to save her Life, as she saves other Vets! IRONIC ISN'T IT...

We need to get Miss Dakota back, and working with Glenn again, because now that, the Royal Commission has been Granted, they need to be talking to our Vets, and all young and Older Service Personnel to encourage them to speak out, and up, at the Royal Commission into Veterans Suicide.

We are aiming for $10,000 she is Really Sick and the Vet Bill is Crippling. Anything raised over that amount will go into running costs for the Charity: Our Vets Life's matter and ANZAC Warrior Tribute SS.
The Loss of Dakota will be a Loss for all of us, and without Donations that, is a Reality we have to face.

Up until now, we have run out of our own pockets completely and Sponsorships from mostly Veteran Groups who Value what we do for Veterans to save Lives. We ask for help so that, we can Save Dakota a valued Team Member and get them both back on the Road and back to what they have dedicated their Lives to doing, saving Lives from the other Black Dog, the Bad one.
