Mom of 3 kids dies from Covid- Funeral costs

Hi, my name is Evelyn and I have started this GoFundMe to support my lovely niece Vanessa  Amaya who needs an immediate lung transplant. She was scheduled to take her covid shot on Sept 2, 2021, unfortunately on Aug 30, 2021 she contracted COVID 19 and got sick quickly with high fever and then pneumonia. She first went to her local clinic for 23 days and then was transported to Loma Linda University Health in California and placed in a respirator (intubated)for 3 days. She was getting better but then took a turn for the worse. After two months of unsuccessfully trying to fight off the virus, she was put on a life support machine (ECMO machine).

She has now been on life support for 50 days and doctors say her lungs will not recover making a lung transplant necessary for her survival. We are all very grateful for all the doctors and nurses help at Loma Linda Hospital.

For Vanessa to get a lung transplant, she must be moved to UC San Diego Medical Center, we are waiting for a bed to open up. Vanessa will be placed on the lung transplant list, but since she is young and on ECMO, she will be on the top of the list. Moving from the LA area to San Diego will put additional financial and emotional strain on my brother Steve and his wife Elda and Vanessa's children.

 

Before her COVID infection, Vanessa was a healthy 37-year-old mom that supported kids: Kylie (2-year-old), Jaden (who is 11) and Karina (who is 18) as the office manager of a real estate agency. Vanessa is the sole provider for her 3 children, and they need her. Vanessa is a generous, kind, and loving person and enjoys cooking, hiking and was saving to buy a home for her children.

 

Her parents are devastated and they visit their little girl every day from 9 am to 10 pm. They spend their days giving her hope, love, and the will to continue to fight for her life. Vanessa comes from a tight knit family, and we all miss her terribly! Please help her come home to her babies.
