Bringing Hope to Children with Autism & Developmental Disabilities in Kenya

Hello, my name is Sylvia, and I’m reaching out to you with a mission that’s deeply personal to me. As a mother of three, two of whom have multiple disabilities, I know firsthand the struggles of accessing therapy services that are critical for early intervention and education. In Kenya, countless children with autism and developmental disabilities remain at home, without access to these essential services that could change the course of their lives.

Our Therapy in Wheels Outreach Program is designed to bring therapy directly to the doorsteps of children who need it most. These children are often from low-income families, where parents face impossible choices between putting food on the table, buying medication, or affording therapy. Sadly, many children have also been denied entry to schools because of their developmental needs, such as difficulties settling into a classroom or incontinence.

This cause is incredibly close to my heart because I’ve been in their shoes. I know the feeling of helplessness when your child’s future depends on services you simply can’t afford. That’s why I’m raising funds to ensure that more children can access therapy, education, and healthcare services – regardless of their family’s financial situation.

In addition to your generous contributions, we will be supplementing the efforts of donors through our annual Ride 4 Autism Africa. In April 2025, we will be flagging off this journey on World Autism Awareness Day in Nairobi, cycling across Kenya to the western region, culminating in Kisumu City. This ride not only raises awareness but also mobilizes support for initiatives like Therapy in Wheels, ensuring that no child is left behind.

With your support, we can bring hope and transformation to these children and their families. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards providing therapy services that can open doors to a brighter future. Together, let’s change the narrative for children with disabilities in Kenya.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
