Emergency Support for Ms. Debbie Leonard

Debbie Leonard, affectionately known as Ms. Debbie, is a beloved teacher, friend, mentor and legend in the Howard County community. She sustained an optical stroke on January 23. Thankfully she is medically stable, but the stroke’s effects will send Ms. Debbie to an acute rehab facility for several weeks, where she will work to regain full mobility and vision.

We are asking those who have been touched by Ms. Debbie’s kindnesses over the years to help offset the cost of care that insurance does not cover. Once discharged from rehab, she will likely need in home care while she regains her strength. Whatever you can give will go directly to Ms. Debbie. We are grateful for any help, and know that every contribution will be extremely meaningful to her as well.

A beloved preschool teacher at Ilchester Elementary School, passionate Drama Learning Center director, and committed Sunday School teacher at Epiphany Episcopal Church, Ms. Debbie is already "chomping at the bit" to return to her students. She already asks the doctors daily when she can get back to her routine. Trust that our "medical miracle" will be back at it before too long!
