My Brother and his Maui Community lost EVERYTHING

Donación protegida
Due to the devastating wildfires, my brother Nate watched in horror as his house, neighborhood and island burned to the ground, losing his home, his belongings and all his memories built over his lifetime. We are grateful that he was able to evacuate within minutes of the fire engulfing his house, not everyone had the same outcome. There are thousands on the island of Maui, specifically in the town of Lahaina, who are in even worse situations. In addition to losing all their material possessions, some have also lost loved ones. The devastation that has occurred is beyond comprehension as they are still realizing the extent of the loss.

Nate has had multiple offers to leave his island, however in the true spirit of Ohana, and to give back to the community that has given him so much over the last two decades, he has decided to stay to support the residents of Maui as they search for family members, pets, recover their property, and navigate the unfathomable destruction the wildfires have caused. Thousands are still seeking safety and are in dire need of basic necessities such as food, pet food, drinking water, clothing, shelter, hygiene and feminine products, electricity, transportation and fuel. Many have no means to secure their needs except for the generosity of others.

We are asking that you please donate to Nate’s Community Relief Fund. His goal of $96761 is symbolic of Lahaina’s zip code. He is on a mission, doing everything he can to hold and uplift his island ohana through their pain and hardships. He's been boots on the ground the entire time, gathering friends, and personally purchasing and delivering needed supplies to specific Maui communities, families, and those helping during this crisis recovery. This rebuilding process is a long-term commitment of time, effort, energy, funds and unconditional Love!

The people of Maui are calling on us, let’s open our hearts and answer the calling! We truly appreciate our global community, and please continue to send thoughts, prayers and monetary love as they navigate this traumatic ordeal, time is of the essence! Please contribute what you are able to and what you are moved to give, even $5 can make a difference. Thank you for reading this, and for passing it on to others who are in a position to help. And from N8's posts... "Mahalo for your kokua!"
