Bring Shawn Home ALS

Shawn is being discharged from the hospital in a couple days. We are coordinating this, to get himself home:

I fly to Eugene OR, rent RV one way, drive to Medford OR, rent trailer for gus chair and household items (only necessities), load up Shawn and the Missus and drive them to Phoenix. Shawn wants NOTHING more than to be in Phoenix to live out his days and to give his wife a better support group when he is gone.

The cost will be around $3500

Shawn is dying of ALS and we are seeking medical transport from Medford OR to Phoenix AZ so that he and Brittany can be closer to friends.

Brittany and Shawn have a place to live with me and the plan for months was to get them here when the route from Southern Oregon into Northen California was sure to be open. In fact, it was the topic of conversation when I flew to visit them just a few weeks ago. At least, in between laughing hysterically and eating pizza and fresh baked cookies. The day after I left, Shawn went into hospital for breathing, choking issues and has been in and out a few times. He is currently IN, and his health has mandated a feeding tube as well as a breathing tube. His need for care is above what can be offered in Medford OR but they are only offering options of Portland or Eugene. Phoenix has what he needs as he was under the care of Barrows before they moved but I cannot get a call back from their social worker there, probably because I'm not "family," but I assure you, I am and Brittany needs the support as his caretaker to this point. Please pass on any suggested resources, and donate if you are able. Thank you

Today is my buddy Shawn's Birthday. Good news during out convo yesterday, he and the misses are getting some help with an ADA accessible apartment. Someone has offered to pay the deposit. This means he will be able to roll in and out of his place instead of having to leave his chair outside the trailer and relying on others to carry him around. Such a better situation for he and the misses. Anyway, as always feel free to donate or share this or both as they fight ALS.

Shawn and his wife have been living in a trailer up in Talent OR for a bit and I sure miss him. Loved ones gifted me the chance to go visit him this weekend. It'll be good to see my friend.

Shawn and his wife are effectively snowed in. The pass to get to Oregon is closed and his father in law is unable to drive down to move them. If he flies into town and rents a Uhaul, they still cannot drive their remaining posessions up through the pass. They need help to possibly extend their rental here in Phoenix.

Im Ryan and I have a friend who was diagnosed with ALS in January. His name is Shawn. In my efforts to help him and his wife, I started this GoFundMe to raise money and give them one more month in their apartment here in AZ.
