Support Jamaal Trotman's Homegoing Service

I am Lisa Graham and I come to you with a heavy heart. My beloved son, Jamaal Trotman, left us on September 15, 2024 at the age of 34. For years, he valiantly battled heart failure, while keeping much of his struggle private. To those unfamiliar with him, Jamaal was a beacon of love and happiness—intelligent, humorous, compassionate and one of the strongest individuals I've ever known. Born in Hampton on March 27, 1992, he faced the challenges of teenage fatherhood that forced him to mature more quickly than his peers; however, he embraced this new role with dignity.
In December 2023, he lost his long-time partner Gabby. Together, they had a beautiful son named Uriah—a two-year-old who is nonverbal with autism. Now I find myself needing to leave my second job to care for him alone. This situation is entirely foreign to me; I have transitioned from supporting my son in raising his child to becoming the primary caregiver myself. This precious little boy has suffered the unimaginable heartache of losing both parents within just nine months.
Jamaal's other children—Julian, Jamaya, and Kamryn—are grieving their father's absence; Ayoka mourns her brother; and I am left grappling with the loss of my only son, while starting anew as a mother to my grandchild. Our family never expected this tragedy; Jamaal always seemed capable of overcoming life's hurdles.
On behalf of our family during this incredibly challenging time, I'm reaching out for any help you can provide towards Jamaal's funeral expenses. As I have no money to bury my child, your support—whether through contributions or prayers—would mean the world to us as we navigate this deep sorrow together. We truly appreciate you being there for us in our time of need. Thank you for your time.
