Surviving a Gunshot to the Head
Donation protected
BACKGROUND
This fundraiser was created for Nathan Hopkins. He was on vacation in Chicago when he was shot in the top of head. He also had his phone and identity stolen. This was August 2nd. The injury affected the left side of his brain, which controls the right side of his body and stores language. After the Emergency Surgery to remove the bullet and stop the bleeding, he couldn't move his right arm or leg or say more than 'yes' or 'no'
He had a failed surgery on Sept 15th to insert a synthetic bone plate, after 4 weeks in the hospital and 2 weeks in day therapy. A nasty infection filled his body from the bottom of his spine to his brain.
All funds raised will go directly toward costs associated with his recovery.
Please keep Nathan in your thoughts and prayers. We will use this page to keep everyone updated on his progress. As of Feb 2024 there are 9 updates posted, see below
