Profesor Tatjana Tanja Stevanovic (Bijelic)

Hi my name is Boris, I started this fundraiser to help Tatjana with medical bills. In few words I'll try to tell her story. Tatjana is History teacher in one of the High Schools in Belgrade Serbia, the one where there was a shooting. One of the students brought the gun and killed 8 kids and security guard. Tatjana was first to jump on the shooter, with her bare hands, and grabbed loaded gun, she got shoot in both of her hands, stomach and hip. Shooter had a list of over 20 kids on it, so we can say Tanja saved many lives that day, almost giving her life. She was in surgery for more than 8 hours, first thing she said when she woke up was that she wishes she is dead, instead of those kids. Tatjana grow up in Belgrade but she spent every summer in our small village, Zazvic in Dalmatia Croatia.

She has two kids, boy and a girl, loving husband who spends every day taking care of here since she is on bed rest and cannot walk. She is waiting on another surgery when they will try to rebuild her hip.

But her bills do not care about that, husband is self-employed and he cannot work since he spends days with her helping. One kid is in college and second is starting college this year. That being said they are in really hard situation and every penny would help.

Please be kind and donate for hero Tanja, she did not run, she did not hide, she wanted to sacrifice her life for lifes of her students. Not many would have courage to do that.
