Nate's Greatest Shave
Donation protected
Long story short. I have stage 3 testiscular cancer and about to undergo chemotherapy starting Monday.
Now although I have started this email with a self centred comment, the content is far from it.
This Saturday I'll be holding a charity night called Nate's Greatest Shave.
Now just stay with me...
Ok, why..?
I'm a hairy bastard.
Seriously don't give up just yet...
I really don't want my hair to go to waste so by offering it to someone who needs it I'll hopefully be bringing a bit of happiness to someone in need.
We will also be raising money for families with cancer which unfortunately is a non existent charity at this stage.
The reason this is so important to me is because could you imagine being a young person with a new family, a mortgage to pay and already swimming in debt and then being told you have cancer?
What about being a single mother?
What if your child had cancer, would you rather be at work or by their side?
This charity is to take the financial pressure off those people so the person with cancer can focus on just getting better (happy head, healthy body), the family can spend more time with their children and not stress about debt collectors turning up to their door.
Financial pressure is a major contributor to depression and can also be the main lead into further medical conditions. By releasing people from financial pressure their able to focus on getting healthy or even just being happy or trying to make the most of their time left.
I don't believe in insurance and yes I know their are some out there that cover this kind of situation but I believe in people and the power of generosity and when people are in need Australians step up and work together, our communities bond and family and friends unite together to help each other.
So this is what I'm doing for people who need it more then me, Can you help me shine a light on this and show support?
fuck Cancer. fuck Depression. fuck doing it on your own. I've gottcha!
