Navy Vet & Family On the Verge Of Being Homeless

Donation protected
Due to a shoulder injury and multiple surgeries and a ton of other obstacles life has thrown at me, my family and I are at risk of being homeless before Christmas. When my surgeries started over a year ago and my financial stability was compromised I started receiving help from Code Of Vets. Code of Vets provided so much help financially and emotionally as my family and I navigated through these difficult times. That being said I am not the only Veteran in the world and COV needs to be able to help all Veterans and unfortunately cannot provide this assistance my family and I need right now. COV is an amazing organization taking care of Veterans everyday, one Veteran at a time. COV was able to assist me by raising the funds to secure a new home and cover rent and bills for a couple months prior to my most recent surgery. Also we dont have a vehicle so it helped pay for multiple UBER trips back and forth from physical therapy and doctors appointments. My wife was able to secure a job as well around this time. Shortly after my most recent surgery there was confusion between the Surgeon and Workers Comp on some paperwork which wasnt filed appropriately and caused a delay in me getting paid for a month. At this same time my wife had taken off work to let me recover and take care of our 2 boys which meant she wasn't being paid at the time having no leave since it was a new job. This put us a month behind on all of our bills. Paperwork cleared up and I began receiving WC pay again and began to play catch up on everything. Still being behind and paying minimums shortly before Thanksgiving my Mother was found unresponsive and I had to perform CPR to keep her from dying. The doctor said she aspirated in her sleep due to double pneumonia and it caused her to go unresponsive and lose oxygen to her brain. The doctor said 5 min later without the CPR and she would have died. Fast forward to my mom coming home from the hospital and my wife has again taken off work to help me care for her. Her job still being new at the time her employer felt that taking 5 days off for someone who wasn't he mother and didn't die was far too much time and she was let go. Losing our second income was another devestaing blow in a line of devestating blows one right after another and left us in a position difficult to try and come back from putting us in December now 2 months behind on rent and bills. Based on some info I was told previously when I sought out help for Novembers rent ive been communicating with my landlord that I may be receiving some assistance which turned out not to be the case and I wasnt informed until December. In the mean time I have been doing some side work to help and while it has been helpful it hasn't been enough to crawl out of this hole and if I had more time it may have worked out. I am a disabled Veteran but my initial VA claim was mostly denied based on evidence but was granted 0% for GERD. My new VA claim is underway and evidence is being gathered. My discharge physical simply states RT Shoulder Injury, Head, Bilateral Knee and a few other things but the field  documentation of these injuries is not very well put together. I also am returning to school in Jan so I will get BAH when that happens. So I am waiting for my new VA claim, to return school and possible PPD for my RT shoulder because the surgeon has left me in a state of very limited to zero range of motion but these things are a ways off and I am at risk of being homeless before Christmas. Below I will detail the amounts needed and everything is currently 2 months behind. If anyone can help me and my family before we lose our home I can't put into words how thankful I would be. I didnt plan for this and I feel defeated and disappointed that I am failing my family. I want to thank everyone for all your support and for taking the time to read this. God bless.
