Is there anything more selfless than loving those who cannot offer anything in return? Every creation on earth deserves to live - and rest - in peace; whether a delicate flower, a furry ferret, or a friend crossed over.
As the Native American proverb goes, "Be kind to every living thing."
There are few who emulated this kindness as well as James Neal Wilder, who concluded his earthly journey on July 5, 2015.
Just as Neal offered peace and respect to those who could offer nothing in return - gentle ferret friends, in his case - let's now join together and offer Neal the peace and memorial he deserves.
We are raising $2500 for Neal's cremation and monument. Extravagance was not Neal's way of life nor do we wish it to be his way of death. However, the passing of a cherished soul inevitably has a cost - both emotional and monetary. Our purest hope is that Neal receives the same comfort and dignity he poured into his loved ones - whether they had two or four legs.
We greatly appreciate any contribution - one cent, one prayer, one kind word. With your help, we can give Neal the honor and love he deserves.
A final word - or final words, rather - from Neal on his last day:
"I want you to know I love you, I forgive you, and I can't wait to see you again. You are everything. Life is good. Keep fighting the good fight. Your ferret-loving friend, Neal. Amen."
