Last spring a series of events drastically changed two lives. In a matter of two weeks I was rear ended at a stoplight, my mom had a stroke, and I was laid off from my job. Any one of these events individually can be a full time job to resolve let alone trying to do them all at the same time. I sustained a back injury and a concussion and dealt with constant headache and back pain into the fall. Through the pain my days were filled with applying for jobs, doctors’ appointments, rehab, and helping and moving my mom. In October I began a therapy that helped reduce my headaches from every day to once or twice a week, but my lower back and hips have not improved. I’ve applied for a hundred or more jobs in and out of my field, from entry to high level with no luck yet. My unemployment ran out in December, and due to unexpected medical issues in that month (not related to my accident), I’ve drained my savings and have incurred about $700 in unpaid medical bills, I also have one procedure that still needs to be done that will only be minimally covered.
It’s hard to ask for it but I NEED HELP. For me and for my mom because I can’t help her if I can’t help myself. I need to work, I need to pay my bills, I need gas, and food. I also need a transport wheelchair for my mom so that I can take her out for things. She can no longer walk with a walker (a more recent development), medical assistance won’t pay for it and I can’t lift a regular wheelchair into my car.
If you have any questions please send a note. Thank you so much.
