Help us build a new school trim trail
Donation protected
The Friends of New Mill School need your help.
Much like parents and caregivers at the end of the holidays, our school trim trails are very, very tired – and this time, a post-school tuck shop won't cut it...
For those unfamiliar with the term (and we number many, don't worry) trim/adventure trails are the play equipment, surfacing and activities permanently installed in outdoor spaces, such as wooden bridges, balance beams, swing steps, netting and the like, basically forming an obstacle course.
Our current set-ups have definitely seen better days and while it isn't cheap replacing and upgrading these areas, hopefully you'll agree it's important for children to have playscapes like these. As well as the obvious physical benefits of active play, trim trails are great for social interaction and, perhaps most importantly, they're a load of fun too.
What will it cost? Well, we're hoping to raise (brace yourselves) £5,000 – this will cover improving and replacing equipment on the trim trails at both schools to give our kids inspiring and exciting outdoor spaces.
School fundraising has always been so well-received; we're incredibly grateful that you all keep coming to the discos, buying raffle tickets, stocking up the tombolas and donating your time and energy, and while it's a shame that parents, teachers and well-wishers often have to close the funding gap like this, we're hoping you'll join us in trying to support our (officially) outstanding schools to be the best environments they can be for our kids.
We need you to pester your people! So get sharing, involve your neighbours, bother your relatives... Whatever you can contribute is appreciated and seen. Big thanks from the FoNMS volunteers.
