Support mental health in honor of Nick Bower

Donation protected
On July 2nd, 2022, Nick Bower died by suicide at the age of 28. Nick had a job he loved in an industry he was passionate about. He had a loving family who supported him in every way they could. He had meaningful relationships with friends and co-workers and many hobbies that brought him happiness. To anyone looking on, it seemed like Nick had every reason to want to live. But unfortunately, mental illness has a way of disguising itself.

Worldwide, 800,000 people die by suicide each year — one every 40 seconds — making it the second leading cause of death among people aged 15 to 29.

There are many reasons someone may not seek help when battling mental illness. In honor of Nick, this fundraiser aims to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness and help the National Alliance on Mental Illness provide a network of support and resources. In addition, Nick's family will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Northeast Iowa Community College Foundation for a scholarship to be awarded to someone following the same passion as Nick in the field of auto mechanics.
