Help Nixon Fight Cancer

Nixon was recently diagnosed with cancer, and we are coming together to support him and Lindsay.

Dear Friends & Family,

As some of you may know, our friend Lindsay and her 6-year-old son Nixon’s world was turned upside down when they received devastating news just before Christmas. Nixon was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer found in his ear after he complained of pain. The diagnosis came as a complete shock, but Lindsay’s strength and Nixon’s bravery have been unwavering since that day.

Lindsay and Nixon traveled to BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver to meet with specialists and learn more about the treatment plan ahead. The uncertainty of how long they would be in Vancouver was overwhelming, but in a rare moment of relief, they were given the green light to delay the start of chemotherapy and returned home for a few days over Christmas.

This month, Lindsay and Nixon returned to Vancouver, where they are grateful to be staying at the Ronald McDonald House, close to the hospital. They have begun Nixon’s chemotherapy journey. Despite the intense challenges, Nixon and Lindsay have faced each treatment like true warriors—showing resilience, strength, and courage that leave everyone in awe.

Nixon’s treatment plan is extensive, involving multiple rounds of chemotherapy, potential surgery and the possibility of a two month stint in Seattle for proton radiation. The emotional, physical, and financial toll on Lindsay and Nixon will be immense, along with the financial challenges of travel, additional medical expenses, and Lindsay’s time away from work.

This is why, as Lindsay’s friends, we are asking for your support and where we can all make a difference.

Lindsay and Nixon are incredibly grateful for the generous support they’ve received so far. Thank you to those who have sent over gift certificates, travelled to be with them and sent over encouraging words and prayers.
