Okanagan Wildfire Responders 2023 Gratitude Event
Donation protected
The Okanagan wildfires of 2023 have had a profound effect on so many individuals. Due to the efforts of so many firefighters, first responders and support workers, the impact on our community has been greatly mitigated.
The goal of the Okanagan Wildfire Responders Gratitude Event to ensure all wildfire responders are appropriately acknowledged for their heroic efforts. The Okanagan Wildfire Responders gratitude Event (OWRGE) will be an upbeat, family-oriented community event highlighting the efforts of all firefighters, first responders and support workers. This event is free and will include activities for the whole family as well as a barbeque and a formal gratitude ceremony.
To allow sufficient time for our wildfire responders to wrap up their efforts and get some well-deserved rest, the event is planned for the City of West Kelowna’s Memorial Park on Saturday, April 27th of next year.
All proceeds of the event will go to the West Kelowna Professional Firefighters Charitable
Society. This charitable society raises funds to assist organizations in our community including The Community Recreational Initiative Society, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada and the BC Firefighters Burn Fund.
