Oceanhills Ecuador Mission Trip
Donation protected
From June 19-29, 2017, 9 high school students and 3 adults from Oceanhills Covenant Church 34North Youth Group will travel to Quito, Ecuador. Oceanhills has a long history of partnership with a non-profit in Quito called Casa Victoria. Casa Victoria provides Jesus-centered after-school and summer programs for kids from low income families. We have been invited to stay with Casa Victoria to support their organization through service work, connecting with the local kids, and learning about the lives of Ecuadorians. We will also have the opportunity to visit the indigenous people of Village 235, work with local farmers, and explore surrounding natural and urban environments.
Our hope is to get out of our comfort zones to see how God is working in a very different culture and grow in our personal perspectives on life, faith, and work. In youth group we have been discussing what it means to know and love God and others. As we broaden our view of the world and how God works, we hope our capacity to know and love will grow as well. We are looking forward to applying what we discover about ourselves, the world, and Jesus to our community in Santa Barbara!
We need to raise $12,000 for this trip, and any giving over and above our goal will go to Casa Victoria!
Opportunities to support our team:
1. You can financially support us by giving through GoFundMe.
2. You can send cash or write a check to “Oceanhills Covenant Church” (821 State Street, Suite B, Santa Barbara, CA 93101) with "Ecuador" in the memo. Oceanhills is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Tax ID 77-0489999.
3. Prayerfully support our team and Casa Victoria before and during our trip.
Thank you for considering supporting us in this transformative adventure!
