Help Officer McCoy with her amputation

Donation protected
Hey, y'all, my name is Nicole and although I hate asking for help, I am at a point now when I am needing to reach out. I am preparing to have my left leg amputated above the knee and am asking for donations to help with my care. Back in September 2017, I was a police officer in Colorado and I was involved in an on-duty vehicle accident where my left leg was trapped under the vehicle. I do not remember to the extent of how I was positioned but after a few months, I was back to full duty, although my left knee was still being treated by an orthopedic doctor and physical therapy. A year later in 2018, I had orthopedic knee surgery which changed my life. I woke up in severe pain, nothing like I had felt before and I could no longer bend my knee. After lots of physical therapy and other treatment avenues, in 2019 I was told there was nothing more that could be done and that I would need to medically retire. Once the surgeon relayed his opinion to the city, I was immediately released from worker's comp and told it was now considered a pre-existing condition. With the help of other officers, I got a lawyer and other specialists involved, however, the stance of the city never changed. I was retired on 9/11/2019 by the FPPA (Fire & Police Pension Assoc.) Though then FPPA recognized my injury as on-duty related, the city and work comp will not pay for anything. I developed CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) after my surgery which none of the doctors picked up on and has left me completely disabled. CRPS is a form of chronic pain that usually affects an arm or a leg. CRPS typically develops after an injury or surgery. The pain is out of proportion to the severity of the initial injury. The symptoms I have are a continuous burning and throbbing pain, severe sensitivity to touch, swelling throughout my leg, my left leg is several degrees colder than my right, I constantly sweat, my skin is blotchy and can become purple, blue and red, my joints are constantly stiff, I can't walk without a cane or I have to use a wheelchair, some days I can't even get out of bed, I fall several times a week and have knocked myself out after falling. I shake and have muscle spasms. My biggest issues are that I am extremely sensitive to any kind of touch and even wearing pants is very painful. My leg always feels like it is on fire and my CRPS has been labeled as treatment-resistant. My CRPS spread to my midsection after I had my spinal cord stimulator surgery. In March I will be having an above-the-knee amputation which will be quite costly. My pre-op alone cost me about $1,000 out of pocket. All donations will go towards my medical bills and my prosthetics. I am grateful for any donations or sharing of this page.
