Journey to Japan
Donation protected
Hi I'm Oliver.
I'm 15 years old and live in Stoke on Trent in the UK. Since 2018 I have been fascinated by and fallen in love with all things Japanese. I am teaching myself the language and am learning how to draw manga characters. I desperately want to visit the country and experience the culture!
I have the opportunity to attend a Japanese school and live with a host family for ten months when I finish my GCSE studies. This will not only allow me to experience life in Japan but it will develop my self confidence, life skills and communication skills. Its definitely going to push me out of my comfort zone!
The figure I need to raise is HUGE but I have plans for a part time job, fundraising ideas and am creating and selling self portraits in the style of manga art on my Facebook page Manga Me Art ! I want to be able to say that I started my own business to fund my dream when I am applying for courses to develop me in the future.
As a young carer for my twin brother Harry who has Autism, some days are quite challenging and I find that I am able to escape into my love of Japan. It would be absolutely amazing to be able to go on this once in a lifetime experience and I am more than happy to create images, do short video tutorials on the language or anything else that you would like to see in exchange for your donation and support!
Your support would mean the world to me!
