We are excited to announce that One Love AVL is now officially a nonprofit, dedicated to expanding our mission and serving our community!

Help Us Launch Our First Project: One Love AVL’s Food Truck for Hurricane Relief!
With winter approaching and many still struggling from the hurricane's impact - whether from job loss, damaged homes, or disrupted livelihoods - continuing our relief efforts through free hot meals is more important than ever. Our first major project is to acquire a food truck that will allow us to broaden our reach, bringing nourishing, hot meals directly to the local areas that saw the greatest devastation from Hurricane Helene. Our first major project is to acquire a food truck that will allow us to broaden our reach to bring nourishing, hot meals directly to local areas that saw the greatest devastation from Hurricane Helene. The initial goal of $15,000 will go directly toward purchasing a used food truck and ensuring we have the necessary supplies to keep the kitchen running. This will enable us to expand our reach and continue serving those in need. Simultaneously, we will be developing creative projects as a collective that focus on recovery for our River Arts District artists and supporting families during this unprecedented time.

Our Story
Born out of the devastation left by Hurricane Helene, One Love AVL began as a grassroots relief kitchen, providing nourishing meals to our neighbors when they needed it most. In the wake of the storm, our kitchen became a beacon of support in West Asheville, bringing people together through hot, nourishing meals when our community was largely without electricity and water. Time and time again, we heard that it was the first meal many had eaten all day.

What started as a community kitchen in the home of local artist and musician Mon Bethelwood, quickly grew as more volunteers stepped up and the kitchen moved to Haywood Avenue. Now, One Love AVL is a full-fledged operation with a growing team of artists and volunteers contributing to the cause. This effort has not only been about feeding the community but also about uplifting Asheville’s vibrant creative spirit. We believe that food and art have the power to connect, heal, and strengthen us all, especially given the impact of Helene on our River Arts District artists and the greater community.

Our Mission Statement
One Love AVL is dedicated to nourishing hearts by making delicious meals, creativity, and community accessible to all through impactful service projects. As an artist-led, volunteer-driven nonprofit, we support underserved and hurricane impacted areas with free, delicious meals and engage in community service projects that uplift those who need it most. We also support Asheville’s local art scene by providing resources and creative opportunities for artists, while fostering a resilient, heart-centered collective.
