Emergency Vet Expenses

PSA: This GoFundMe has changed goals due more urgent needs. I was able to take care of the financial aid situation, but something more important came up last night.

The other day I noticed Onyx was throwing up a lot, and had been laying in the same spot for a while. When I checked on him he was purring loudly, and I thought he was just having some tummy problems (he tends to eat fast).

Last night he was throwing up more, and was moving very lethargically. This time when I checked on him he would growl or meow a very deep meow (a sign of distress). He luckily walked right into the crate, and I was able to bring him to the emergency animal hospital near me.

It turns out he had a bladder blockage (something that happens with male cats) that was life threatening. He had a sick urinary obstruction, which means it was starting to affect other parts of his body (i.e. kidneys). More info in the attached pic. Basically, if I didn't get him to the vet, he would have died within the week.

As you can imagine this is not cheap. Unfortunately Care Credit lowered my credit limit out of the blue and refuses to give me an increase despite making more money now than when I signed up and never missing a payment (I think I was late by a couple days once). I was also dumb and never got pet insurance (though soon as I pay this off, I will). I had no choice, but to take out a loan through Scratch.

This is going to set me back a lot (especially with paying out of pocket for school stuff, and needing my own dental work done). Not only that, but if I don't pay it back by Jan 19th, they will charge me interest and I'll end up having to pay almost 6K.
