Hi y'all! My name is Autumn I want to thank everyone that helped look for me! I got so spooked on Saturday by something- I don’t even know what now!- that I took off but didn’t know the area, I couldn’t find my way back home..I tried a couple times but then I got hurt so I hid..I’m sorry I didn’t show my squishy face more to make it easier on my mommy and daddy. They must’ve been so sad just like I was but I didn’t give up hope! I knew they didn’t either and when I saw them again I gathered up all of my energy and ran as fast as I could to go give my family a big tail wagging, wet kiss hello
Buuuut the warm welcome didn’t last that long because then I heard them say we have to leave now and go to the hospital..I don’t know why they would take me there they know I’m scared of doctors and been through enough! Oh…wait. I feel something, yup the adrenaline is wearing off annnnd now I’m reallllly hurting... Okay guys let’s go now hurry up!!!
Alexis here! Autumn is sleeping so comfortably, I even got a call around midnight from one of the techs and they said she is just so sound over there so I know she’s in good hands! They did say that we could go home after today and find a vet in Texas but we really don’t want to rush her and transport her such a long way we would like to stay here and honestly…we didn’t get to take her down to the beach yet and we’d really love to do that now once she’s out ️
Just having her back is the greatest reward and we will do anything and everything for our girl.. and EVERYONE of y’all have done EVERYTHING for us and for her too we couldn’t be more grateful!!
We are setting this GoFundMe up to try to cover her expenses as much as we can but also to help us stay here for her during her treatment. They gave us an estimate range last night and it was $4000 - $7000. We did what we could yesterday to get the treatment started and for her to stay the night there but, like I was telling some neighbors, we are an open book and I’ll just say we do not have the means at all BUT WE WILL DO EVERYTHING WE CAN!
I want to explain a little bit about how we even made it to Wilmington. My husband got laid off from his job, Carvana, late November. We were three months postpartum. They cut the entire second shift with no notice because the company was going under. He was a manager. We lost all our benefits and insurance for our baby and he was even supposed to have surgery January 12th for a urachal cyst but we had to move that back so we can gather the means.. he’s not hurting anymore, and while it is a priority its not urgent and he has some time to get it removed! But since he was laid off we can’t afford Dallas anymore so we took a road trip (as our kinda farwell to TX) to the east coast looking for jobs along the way in some cities we think we may want to live in. North Carolina had most of the stops on this trip but Wilmington was originally only a one night stop just to explore the area! We won’t lie.. when Autumn went missing we said “Yeah.. we are never coming back here” but then we started thinking well..maybe she wants us to stay here and she’s playing hide n seek! So we are considering moving down the road!
Y’all have done so much for our family we couldn’t ask for more! But if you’d like to contribute we appreciate EVERYTHING no matter how much and please just spreading the word is enough! Thank you all again, our family is together and we all can finally sleep- especially mamas Autumn
