Emergency relief for Orange Robe Tours - Covid-19
Donation protected
At the beginning of 2019 I launched Orange Robe Tours, a profit-for-purpose social enterprise, based in Luang Prabang, Laos. We employ former Novices and Monks who have recently left the temple to give culturally appropriate tours to tourists, providing much-needed support during their transition from temple life to layperson life, while preserving the traditional culture and customs of Laos.
Unfortunately, due to the spread of Covid-19 we have had to close our doors for the foreseeable future. While Laos has had very few Covid-19 cases, the tourism industry, which we rely on, has been crippled and support for small business is virtually non-existent in Laos at this time.
We are currently using our reserves to pay our employees a portion of their salary and our continuing rental costs. However, with the tourism industry's immediate future uncertain during this time we are struggling to stay afloat.
Any donation will allow to us to continue paying our employees and support their families during this difficult time.
Any excess funds will be distributed to local charities we are aligned with.
For more information about Orange Robe Tours please check out our website.
