Our Mission:
Orlando community art supply is a new resource for folks in Central Florida who want to keep the community green & creative!
The art supply closet benefits local working-class artists, teachers, students, and many more awesome creative people in our community. The art supply isn’t just a supply closet, it’s also community art classes and events to encourage creativity amongst everyone!
Raising Funds:
I am currently raising funds to get officially registered as a 501(c)3 / Non-Profit!
The funds raised will cover about getting the nonprofit status, to get accounting help, better storage and shelving for our supplies. Additionally, donations will also help us with marketing, extra supplemental supplies and keeping our art supply going!
How We Work:
We are a donation based pop-up art supply closet! The art supply accepts new and used art supplies that may not be wanted and are organized, cleaned, and re-distributed back into our community. All our art supplies are free because they are powered by awesome donations from awesome folks like you!
About the Organizer:
My name is Jessica Christie, I am an artist, residing in Orlando, Florida.
At the start of the pandemic, I saw a the Collective desire to be creative, I also saw many local artists, struggling financially due to the economic stress. Art isn’t just work for many of us, it’s a healing space, I was amazed to see how many people who typically weren’t creative, exploring new crafts and arts to manage their anxieties during the pandemic.
I was ultimately inspired by the art salvage organizations in California (like Broad Room ) and New York City (Material for the Arts) to come up with a creative solution; To keep working artists supplied, all while keeping art environmentally friendly by using what we have. over the last five months, the community art supply closet has taken off and is well loved within our city. I would love the opportunity to further this endeavor, get to a 501c3 & open a physical location soon!
Thank you for your kind donations! Let’s get creative!
