Oshkosh Pride; Fund Safe & Joyful Community Event

Hey! My name is Hollie Poupart and I am one of the original founders and one of the Directors of Oshkosh Pride here in Oshkosh Wisconsin! With great excitement, I am ecstatic to remind everyone of the upcoming arrival of Pride season coming soon. Mark June 29th, 2024 in your calendars! Here we come! Now more than ever our LGBTQIA2+ community needs eachother and their chosen families help to uplift and empower us. With endless book-ban charades, proposed bathroom discrimination laws, gender bans in sports, genocide around the globe, poverty and the ever increasing s****** and self-harm statistics rising,...our beloved friends and loved ones (most especially black &brown women) are in danger. This is where Oshkosh Pride comes in.

While technically starting in 2018, Oshkosh Pride put solid roots down in 2021. We started as a pop up tent providing free food, LGBTQ centered artists/performers, games, informational resources, and tons of queer joy. Our mission this year and every year forward is to do the same! The "problem"?

WE KEEP GROWING!

Each year our beautiful crowd, and the needs they have, have doubled. I'm not even kidding! It brings our team to tears every year to see our families gather safely in spaces free from bigotry, judgement, and shame. Each year more and more people join us in this one soul-nourishing afternoon...which brings us to why we have created this GoFundMe in the first place.

Due to unforseen circumstances on their end, our fiscal host Open Collective has decided to dissolve. As a result, OCF stopped allowing Oshkosh Pride to collect donations on their platform back on March 15th. FEAR NOT! Our Oshkosh Pride team has decided to treat this news as an opportunity to grow and become stronger by creating and applying for our own fancy non-profit entity!

**While our new 501(c)3 is being finalized, we are able to accept donations here via this official GoFundMe!**

Any donation from the smallest bit of change to the largest chunk of cash goes directly towards all operational costs, performers, food vendors, and potential future space rental fees
