PB PAPR PROJECT Micah & Molly Kapp
50 PAPR MASKS FOR ICU NURSES
EACH MASK COSTS $700.
We are Micah and Molly Kapp and we live in Palm Beach County. We are middle school students at Palm Beach Day Academy. Our parents are both physicians.
We are raising money so that nurses and healthcare workers in Palm Beach County can have the proper protection they need to be able to stay safe and healthy while taking care of COVID 19 patients. All proceeds will be used to buy Ford Motor Scrappy PAPRs. PAPRs are Powered Air-Purifying Respirators. They are used by healthcare workers caring for COVID 19 patients.
They are designed by Ford Motor company team members who are working with 3M to jointly develop a new design leveraging parts from both companies to meet the surging demand for first responders and health care workers.
Ford and 3M teams have been resourcefully locating off-the-shelf parts like fans from the Ford F-150’s cooled seats for airflow, 3M HEPA air filters to filter airborne contaminants such as droplets that carry virus particles and portable tool battery packs to power these respirators for up to eight hours.
