PS 175 City Island School Library

PS 175, The City Island School, is a public K – 8 school located in a close-knit neighborhood in the Bronx, New York.  Our mission is to create a true collaborative community where our staff works together to meet the instructional and social needs of our students.

Four years ago our school was fortunate to have a beautiful new Library/Media Center built.  We are excited to have such a wonderful resource for our students to use; however, when the library was built, funding for books was not included so we are lacking in the number of fiction/non-fiction books available for students at all grade levels.   

Research has shown that a well-funded school library has a direct impact on improved student achievement.  School libraries provide students with support in the learning process, as well as equipping them with essential twenty-first century skills needed for success.

Please help us provide our students with an abundance of fiction/non-fiction books that will promote a love of reading, help stimulate their curiosity and improve their learning outcomes.
