Medical Mission Trip - Dominican Rep
Tax deductible
Project World Health (PWH) is a unique organization founded and led by medical students at the University of South Florida with the mission of providing basic healthcare services to impoverished communities abroad. Our goal is to meet the residents’ needs by providing sustainable patient care, health education and preventative medicine.
In March of 2016, PWH will travel to the Jarabacoa region of the Dominican Republic. The team will examine patients, make diagnoses, perform minor procedures, prescribe medications, and distribute hygiene products. Our interprofessional group of physicians, residents, nurses, pharmacists and USF medical students expect to serve about 2,500 individuals over the course of the week. For many, this will be the only health care they receive for the year.
We are raising money for medication and supplies that cannot be donated and to assist with travel expenses to recruit a large group of talented volunteers. This one week GoFundMe campaign is designed to raise 10%, or at least $5,000 towards the cost of the trip, which is approximately $50,000.
You can learn more about PWH by visiting www.projectworldhealth.org. Thank you for your support, any contribution helps!
