Dear Friends of Pam, Nic and Chandler,
Our dear friend Pam Breeden needs our help. Many of you know Pam either through work, sports, school or kids. Those of us that know Pam know that she is always the first one to offer a helping hand when we are sick or having a tough time. We can always be assured that Pam will remember our birthdays, anniversaries and any other moment that will make us feel special. She will drop everything to make sure that teachers are appreciated, coaches are fed and friends are visited while ill. Pam is a true friend to all of us.
Pam has a very serious medical condition. She has a form of MS which brings on an auto-immune response that attacts her optic nerves. She has been doing everything possible to combat this devasting condition, including weekly platelet cleansing, many rounds of chemotherapy and even a clinical trial in Chicago where they took her immune system to zero, with Pam basically living in a bubble for a month hoping her immune response would come back to normal and stop attacking healthy cells. It has not.
On top of her mounting medical bills, she is going through a divorce, having to sell her home of 20 years, and has been unable to work for the last few years do to her deteriorating eyesite.
She is hoping to be part of a new very promising stem cell clinical trial in Florida. The cost of this is over $20,000. plus travel expenses. It is her best chance at returning her eyesite to normal, and it is small window of opportunity.
For months, I have been contemplating this GoFundMe site for Pam. I wasn't 100% sure if she would accept the help. Although Pam is always the first to offer a helping hand, she is not one who is willing to accept help from others. Pam is strong, courageous and a true fighter but it's time that we step up and help her and it's time for her to accept the help from us.
Times are tight for all of us as we approach the end of 2014 but if you could find it in your hearts to donate anything to Pam and her family, we will find a way for her to accept the help.
There are a couple of reasons to help financially:
1. Medical Bills and Medications - these are ongoing
2. Living Expenses - she is deficit spending every month
3. Christmas - Anything helps
4. Clinical Trial to restore Vision - $20,000. +
