Paulino was a courageous man who patiently endured serious health problems without complaint. He battled with his health since childhood, but did not have to do so alone. His sisters took an active role in supporting him, as did his loving mother. After losing kidney function at the age of 15, he had to begin hemodialysis and this continued for over 34 years. The last 25 of those years, he was under the care of the amazing staff at the Muscatine dialysis unit who tenderly cared for him as a parent does for their beloved child.
In 1994, Paulino was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and until the very end he enthusiastically shared his faith with others. He loved to promote the same ideals and bible principles that had given his life a new meaning. It made him specially happy to speak to others about his Bible based hope that the dead will be resurrected in a restored paradise earth. He regularly read God’s Word and exerted himself to apply the wise counsel found within it.
In 2005, he traveled to Argentina to marry the love of his life, Dianna. He had clearly won the heart of his devoted wife and her entire family. During their marriage of 17 years, he enjoyed traveling to Argentina several times. There he could enjoy delicious food while surrounded by the family that loved him immensely. True to the generosity that always characterized him, his final wish was to donate his organs to benefit the lives of others.
Paulino will be deeply missed for his loving wife, Dianna, and siblings: Lupe from Houston TX, Alma from Muscatine, Jorge from Matamoros MX, J Fernando from Matamoros MX, Victor from Reynosa Mx, Sonia from Hidalgo TX, Marisol from Reynosa MX, Carlos, from Reynosa MX, Coral from Spring Branch TX, and several nieces and nephews, his family in law from Argentina and a lot of friends.
He was preceeded in death by his grandparents, his father Juan Rodriguez Lopez, his mother Evangelina Padilla Rodriguez and brother Hugo Rodriguez Padilla
