Peaceable Kingdom saved my dog from a thief

This morning, I let my dogs into my fenced-in back yard. Two hours later, I found the gate lock broken and my neighbor checking on my property, but no dogs. To complicate the situation, they didn't have their collars on (yeah, my bad, I took the fence for granted).

Peaceable Kingdom called and said they had my German Shepherd dog Ilsa. I was expecting to hear that some good person found her and turned her in. What they told me shocked me to my core.

Someone had walked my dog about half of a mile to the shelter not to turn her in, but to get a collar and leash. 

The staff at PK identified that something was wrong, took the dog and checked her microchip. The thief tried to keep the dog and PK had to forcibly take my dog, still not knowing the situation, from them.
